RICHARD Wasswa will send out his U-17 team against Ethiopia today with an ultimatum of making the most of every chance in their first CECAFA fixture which could make or break their confidence in the regional tournament.

The beauty about Uganda’s opening game in Juba is it will not mean the end of the world for Wasswa’s charges if they lost at the hands of their Group B rivals.

But then, you do not need rocket science to understand what a winning start would do to confidence as they seek to emulate their senior Cranes counterparts, who lifted the regional title in January.

“It’s important for us to win the first game and avoid unnecessary pressure,” Wasswa said.

The junior team based in Juba is aware that the regional tournament is their best possible opportunity of announcing their arrival on the Ugandan football scene.

Sudan President Gen. Omar El Bashir has injected $700000 (sh1.4b) in the tournament.

The winners will take home $15,000 (approximately sh33m) while $10,000 (sh22m) and $5,000 (sh11m) will go to the second and third placed teams.

Probable line-up:
J.Sebuliba, D.Sendawula, S.Senkomi, A.Waiswa, M.Zziwa, C.Muluma, F.Ssentongo, K.Luwaga, I.Juma, J.Ssenoga, M.Gaddafi.
