COACH Sam Ssimbwa will be delighted with the return of KCC FC first team stars Anthony Bongole and Benjamin Ochan.

The two players are back with the former league champions after undergoing unsuccessful trials with South African clubs SuperSport United and Bloemfontein Celtic respectively.

“They will be here on Thursday. The foreign quota system in South Africa’s league complicated their transfers. We hope something will work out in January,” the players’ agent Mujib Kasule divulged yesterday.

The re-inclusions of Bongole and Ochan should come as a relief for Ssimbwa, not only on the evidence of his side’s 1-0 friendly defeat to Sudan giants Al Hilal on Tuesday, but also the thin squad currently at Lugogo.

The club’s 2008 league championship-winning team has been drastically reduced following the departures of Brian Umony, Robert Ssentongo, Vincent Kayizzi, Patrick Ssenfuka, Jeremiah Sebuyiira, Sam Mubiru, Sam Ssenoga and Moses Musoke last week. Musoke is currently on trials with South African side Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Veteran defender Moses Muhindo decided to retire while Ausi Kaaya terminated his contract.

Ssimbwa has secured Bruno Olobbo, Franco Oringa, Moses Oloya, Jimmy Kakooza, Brian Majwega, Willy Kavuma, Mubarak Tenywa and Morley Byekwaso, but his squad is still desperately short of experience.
