FORMER United Nations diplomat Olara Otunnu who recently returned to Uganda after over 23 years in exile, has taken his country tour to western Uganda.

Otunnu, also Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) party presidential hopeful, on Monday met Mbarara University students at Mbarara University Inn in Mbarara town.

He told them that he wanted to re-unite Ugandans, whom he claim have been divided by President Yoweri Museveni’s leadership characterised by regional imbalances.

Otunnu assured the people in the western region that they would not suffer because of the mistakes committed by President Museveni once he is pushed out of the office.

“Museveni will carry his own cross and answer for the mistakes he committed when he loses the 2011 general election,” he said.

Otunnu who was in company of Moroto Municipality Mp Benson Obua Ogwal and other UPC diehards in from the western region.

He added that they are beginning a reconciliation strategy in all the regions to re-unite Ugandans who have been divided because of regional political imbalances and development.

Otunnu expressed shock over Government’s failure to rehabilitate the hospitals which were constructed in late 1960s.
