NEWTON Buteeraba is part of the local pop/hip-hop music duo Da Order, along with Raymond Kawooya. He is also the proprietor of the PIAT technologies, an IT firm.

The duo’s songs have made it to the FM radios and TVs. Akaboozi is especially popular since it raps men who refuse to provide for their partners and women who dump newborn babies.

The song, Kibi, against backstabbing, rumourmongering and indecent dressing, is also enjoying a fair run. Buteeraba’s style reflects his dual calling; both an IT executive and an aspirant hip-hop mogul.

A fan of Newton’s style can achieve the look either from uptown or from downtown for less money.

At the Vialli Boutique, Garden City and the La Vie Boutique on Grand Imperial Hotel, genuine Italian designer suits cost sh900,000.

Men’s designer shoes cost sh250,000 at the Amob Italian Shop. Men’s shirts and ties cost sh120,000 and sh50,000 respectively at La Vie.

Get watches like Buteeraba’s from the Vialli Boutique for sh150,000.
One peculiar thing about Buteeraba’s outfit is the inner sweater.

The style, which started as an imitation of the uniforms of higher end colleges in the United Kingdom has also slipped into popular fashion, though it can be a little misplaced in Uganda where the climate is warmer.

One can, however, buy such a sweater from Da Link on Blacklines House for sh50,000. That completes this look for sh1.5m from uptown.

Downtown, the same look can be got for hundreds of thousands of shillings less. Select Garments on JBK Plaza is offering a special discount mass sale, with a set of suit, shirt, tie, cufflinks and socks at sh550,000.

Get men’s watches from the Kyakuwa General Enterprises at sh40,000 while the Italian shoes can be bought from the street walks down town, especially in the evening for between sh30,000 and sh50,000 depending on how well you can haggle.

Sweaters cost anything between sh5,000 and sh15,000 at the new Mini Price downtown.

This completes Buteeraba’s look for sh625,000, sh1m less.
