WE should not get involved in acts of violence like what we saw, where a number of young Moslems participated in violence during the holy month of Ramadhan. There could be differences. But we are all Africans.

They said it:

Let them solve the difference for the good of our nation,” Mufti Sheikh Shaban Mubaje condemning the violence that rocked Kampala 10 days ago during Eid prayers at Old Kampala Mosque on Sunday.

“Stopping me from addressing the congregation is a sign that these people do not have the capacity to listen. That is why we are experiencing conflicts between Mengo and the central Government. I have been sent to deliver a special message from government,” ICT minister, Alintuma Nsambu, commenting about being denied to address a crowd at the 100-year anniversary celebrations of Kitovu Cathedral in Masaka on Sunday.

“If Buganda is accorded a federal status, that federal should not be based on tribe: it should be for all citizens of Uganda living in that region. I am opposed to a federal arrangement that is not built on the foundation of democracy,” Gulu district chairman Norbert Mao cautioning Buganda against advocating a federal system based on ethnicity.

“My motive was to ask them to unblock Lubaga Road. I was on my way to office, on Mbuya hill, only to find the road blocked. I talked to them and as I was leaving, one of them ran to me with a log and hit me. They attacked me despite the fact that I was not armed. My vehicle was also pelted with stones as I drove away,” UPDF spokesperson Felix Kulayigye, narrating his experience with rioters in an interview with The Sunday Vision.


“I am shocked and outraged by the reported suicide attack against AMISOM force headquarters in Mogadishu. I condemn this unacceptable attack on those who are there to help foster peace and I call upon all Somalis to renounce violence,” UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon condemning the Thursday twin suicide attacks on the African Union base in Mogadishu which killed 14 peacekeepers.
