Bugiri -The Police are holding a woman for dumping her six-month-old baby in a pit-latrine on Tuesday. Jamillah Matama, a resident of Busowa parish, reportedly dumped the baby after her husband, Abdu Kadama, failed to buy her a gomesi for Idd. Matama, who tried to escape to Kenya, will appear in court to answer murder charges.

CAO vows to fight graft
Kaberamaido-The chief administrative officer (CAO), Roseline Luhoni, has vowed to interdict civil servants who fail to account for funds. She also promised to commit the defaulters to the anti-corruption court. Luhoni was on Tuesday addressing a general meeting of the district staff at the district council hall.

Sudanese gunmen kill two
KABOONG-Suspected Toposa gunmen from Sudan shot dead two workers of Zimwe Road Construction Company and injured two EU consultants in a road ambush on Tuesday. This happened on Morungole hills when workers were walking to their base. The Toposa were following their animals that were raided by the Dodoth on Monday but turned their wrath on the road builders.
