IT’S always good to know your value. But when one assumes that they are indispensable, they are headed for problems.

The same applies to the world of football, and in this case Nalubaale FC, where manager and financier Mujib Kasule understands the logic.

He will accept ‘the sack’ if results fail to come his way in the delayed Uganda Super League that kicks off this weekend.

“Being the financier does not make me immune to sacking as manager. The club has an executive and a board, who will assess my results as the season progresses. If the results aren’t good then it will be within their powers to act,” Kasule pointed.

Kasule will be in charge of player recruitment and game tactics.

His coaching staff includes Steven Bogere, Baker Mbowa, Francis Mugerwa and Bright Dhaira (for goalkeepers).

Kasule has punctuated the Proline Academy dominated youthful squad with five experienced figures among them Ausi Kaaya and Phillip Ssozi.

They open the campaign on Saturday against 16-time league champions SC Villa at Namboole.

Meanwhile, all the five new entrants to the league have vowed to fight relegation by close of season.

Their fight against the drop is justified as newcomers have hardly survived since 2007.

Arua Central will be the first to take to the pitch as they host Express at Arua Hill on Saturday.

But coach Charles Letti wants to defy history that has seen Ediofe Hills, Arua Municipality and Arua-Garage fall after just a season. With younger brother Mike Letti, he has fused the team with players from neighbouring DR Congo.

“We don’t want to return like other teams have. We have young good players we believe will do the work,” Letti said.

Hoima travel to Nakivubo on Sunday to face 2007/08 champions KCC. But coach Wasswa Bbosa is hit by injuries to some key players.

“We only need to be focused to retain our position but I already have problems with injuries,” Bbosa said.

Masaka LC, who signed former Victors tactician George Lutalo are returning to topflight after a season in the lower division. They have been on a pre-season tour in Bombo and Kampala.

Masaka takes on another new side Fire Masters, whose plan is to avoid relegation in the first year, finish in the top five in 2010/11 and challenge for the title the following season.

“We have come to stay. We are prepared because we have the finances,” company general manager Peter Johnson said.

Coach Frank ‘Video’ Anyau’s CRO are also returning after two seasons. Anyau said this time, his side, so far the youngest, will fight for nothing less than survival.

* Champions URA start their campaign without attacking midfielder Patrick Ochan, who heads back to Ethiopian outfit St. George.

The two clubs agreed terms for the midfielder and yesterday, the soccer federation confirmed that they had received a request for an international transfer certificate for Ochan.

Ochan is returning to the club he played for during the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons.

KCC has also released stocky midfielder Ronald Kamoga for a sh7m fee to Rwanda’s Attraco FC.

Simba SC is welcoming back their former skipper Godfrey Wakaza from Oman.
