The North Kigezi Mothers’ Union training centre has been renamed after its former president, canon Beatrice Ruhindi.

The school was started in 1993 by the mothers to help the needy and orphans to acquire technical skills.

Presidential advisor Susan Muhwezi presided over the function on Sunday.

Youth told to fight graft
Mukono

The assistant commissioner general of the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), Jolly Kamugira, has urged the youth to lead the fight against corruption.

Kamugira said the youth have the potential to lead the fight if they can develop a passion against the vice.

“The youth need to make an individual decision on which road to take in order to lead the fight,” Kamugira said.

She made the remarks on Saturday during the Inter-University Anti-Corruption Conference at the Uganda Christian University.

Kamugira, who was the chief guest at the function, decried the high rate of corruption in government institutions.

She blamed the high rate of corruption on Ugandans who have left the fight against the vice to a few government institutions and civil societies.

Kamugira noted that the war against graft can only be fought and won if every one is involved.
