HE has either turned into a career philanthropist or he is up to something mysterious altogether. Snoops say city businessman Frank Gashumba, whose biggest claim to fame todate is his guardianship of Aisha Nabukeera, the girl who was burnt by a dress allegedly doused in fuel by her step mom, has embarked on yet another humanitarian cause.
Gashumba, who was the chief guest at a function at Namilyango Junior School recently, launched a movement to encourage the spirit of voluntarism among the pupils. He told the teachers, parents and pupils that he wanted the school to start up a consolidated fund to which every pupil would contribute sh1,000.
The school would then identify a needy school in the neighbourhood, which would benefit from the money. He also donated a cow to the school. We hear, he is taking the message to schools far and wide. Isn’t that noble?
