KAMPALA Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) breezed into the final of the national volleyball league playoffs after edging defending champions Kampala City Council (KCC) 3-1 on Sunday.
The victory put the former champions through 2-1 on aggregate and earned them a berth to face Sport-S, who eliminated Nkumba 3-0.
KAVC were inspired by brilliant play from Isaac Omedo, Nicholas Dheyongera, Patrick Okore and Hassan Ssekajoolo and the spike force of Pierre Kamugasha, Eric Ogwang and Amon Ainebyona.
The women’s play-off has been delayed by a dispute between KCC and KAVC.
The volleyball federation is yet to settle the wrangle that started after KAVC got a walkover over KCC after they delayed to arrive for a preliminary game.
