The Uganda Local Governments Association (ULGA) will hold their Annual General Meeting from December 6 to 7 at Riviera Hotel in Hoima. ULGA is the umbrella body of Local Governments in Uganda.

According to Rapheal Magezi, the ULGA secretary general, all district chairpersons, chief administrative officers and speakers are invited for the meeting. The meeting will also serve to mark the 15th anniversary of ULGA.

The key issues to be discussed include a presentation of the localisation of the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) in local governments.

In October this year, local governments across the country joined the rest of the world to stand up in support of the MDGS.
Local governments are central to the implementation of MDGs in Uganda.
