Fake spare parts have increased road accidents

WHENEVER there is a road fatality, the public blames the Ministry of Works for the bad roads and bus owners for employing bad drivers not licensed to drive.

We have lost many dear ones to reckless drivers and potholed roads. However, there are two other factors that have always gone silent and not queried because the public does not realise how these contribute to the accidents.

The first factor is the cheap facilities for repairing vehicles which sounds good for a car owner looking to save. However, garages with cheap services may put the lives of such car owners on the line.

A garage will offer cheap services when they know they can access cheap spare parts. And this is the second factor that is causing car accidents. Most times cheap spare parts are also fake. Fake can mean either they are not genuine, substandard or second hand parts taken from another used car or a car that was involved in an accident is sold off as new.

Fake car parts have invaded our markets customers had better be on their guard whenever they have to service a car or buy a used one.
At most accident scenes, you will hear eye witnesses making comments like the driver lost control of the car, the car kept swerving, he tried to brake, but failed.

A car may fail to brake if the owner sought unprofessional service.
There are many unscrupulous mechanics that replace good, working parts with used parts, so that you can visit them again and again.

For people who drive Mercedes-Benzes, Chryslers, Jeeps, Dodges or GWMs, you can find genuine car parts and professional service at Spear Motors.

To end accidents, the solution will not only come from just fixing the roads and deploying traffic officers on the road to curb bad drivers. Putting in place a framework that will ensure proper driving schools, banning vehicles in dangerous mechanical condition off the road will go a long way in curbing road accidents.

Any countries’ greatest treasure is its citizen’s and so saving their well-being is most important to the development of a country.
