Outspoken traditionalist and chairperson of Uganda Traditional Healers Association, Maama Fiina aka Sylvia Namutebi, who recently confirmed her candidature for the Rubaga Division chairperson seat, stunned onlookers when she drank animal blood to rally the support of the spirits in her campaign.
The post recently fell vacant after the death of Winnie Makumbi. Maama Fiina, who threw a colourful party to kickstart her campaign at her association’s headquarters in Mengo Kisenyi, Kampala, slaughtered two billy goats and six cocks.
“Oh, dear gods, bless your grandchild with the might to beat, hands down, all those who contest for LC3 chairperson Rubaga Division,†she prayed.
Her supporters also gave her a stick which they claimed would enable her chase away other prospective candidates. Are you planning to run for this job? Be very afraid!
