BONIFACE Kiprop will captain the national World Cross Country Championship team for the second year running.

Athletics coach Richard Meto yesterday said Kiprop was selected by his fellow athletes in Kapchorwa. The team leaves tonight to the Sunday venue, Edinburgh, Scotland.

“He is experienced, wise and is a good administrator,” said Meto of the athlete, who won bronze and two silver medals in his junior days.

International kit manufacturers PUMA and international athletics body — IAAF have assisted the local athletics body in seeing that the trip is a success.

“The team has improved a lot. They are fit and their speed is also better than what was seen at the national cross country,” Meto added.

Godfrey Nuwagaba will lead the team.

The team:
Junior men (8km):

Geoffrey Kusuro, Benjamin Kiplagat, Abraham Kiplimo, Ben Siwa, Stephen Kiprotich
Senior men (12km):

Moses Kipsiro, Boniface Kiprop, Nicholas Kiprono, Nathan Chebet, Simon Ayeko, Moses Aliwa, Wilson Kipkemei and Martin Toroitich.
