DEFENCE minister, Dr. Crispus Bazarrabusa Kiyonga and his partner Alice Namugenyi, were among the 18 couples that tied the knot during a mass wedding.

The Archbishop of Uganda, Henry Luke Orombi, presided over the ceremony on Friday at St. Phillips Church Bwera in Kasese district

Kiyonga met Namugenyi in 1987. The couple has five children. The youngest attends secondary school while the eldest is an employee of UN World Food Programme in New York.

Kiyonga, who is also the Bukonzo West MP, was accompanied by fellow legislators Yokasi Bihande (Bukonzo East) and Winfred Kiiza Bihande (Kasese Women) plus the Masaka RDC Bamusedde Bwambale.

However, ministers were absent, surprising residents at the function that attracted hundreds.
