CRANES’ goalkeeping coach has hailed Dennis Onyango as the best in the region despite his howlers in the 4-1 defeat by Benin.

Fred “Giringi” Lukwago said the towering SuperSport United player would be his choice for Saturday's make-or-break battle with Angola.

“The boy is good. It was his bad day,” Lukwago explained of the away encounter adding: “But that happens to even the world’s best goalkeepers.”

Lukwago, who groomed big names at SC Villa like Mike Mukasa, Hannington Kalyesubula and Onyango, took the goalkeepers through intense drills at Namboole.

David Otti, coach Laszlo Csaba’s assistant in charge of counselling, has also been busy.

“I’ve talked to them to forget the past and focus on Saturday. The response has been good.”

r FUFA meanwhile said yesterday that an Angolan contingent of 67 will travel to Kampala by presidential jet today, reports Swalley Kenyi.

They have kept their hotel in Kampala a secret.
