FIVE police officers and two maritime staff in Kalangala have been arrested in connection with the murder of a fisherman whose body was dumped in Lake Victoria.
Southern Police Commander Andrew Sorowen confirmed the arrest of Wilberforce Kiconco and John Walusimbi, who had disappeared after the death of Shafik Bukenya, a fisherman at Kachanga landing site in Bujumba Kalangala district.
Residents burnt a police post when they found Bukenya’s body floating on the lake.
