HE hit the local music scene last year with a bang. His debut hit single, Double Bed Mazongoto, topped the charts on several local FM radio stations. `

Double Bed Mazongoto garnered him two Pearl of Africa Music Award nods in the Song of The Year and Best New Artiste categories. He did not win either, but that was not about to daunt Innocent Kiyaga aka Dr. Hilderman’s music career.

So, what is in store?
Hilderman is vying for a comeback, this time coining slang for the condom.
His latest song is Kampe, (give it to me). “People have always been told to use condoms to protect themselves against HIV/Aids.

But when I did some research, I realised many people were shy to ask for condoms in public. So, I coined an easier word. I sold the idea to the producers of Life Guard condoms.”

Luckily for him, Life Guard bought the idea and invested sh30m in audio and video promotion of the song as well as promoting it.

Hilderman’s song was produced by Shedee from Shedee Studios.
Kampe is a feel-good song in which Hilderman emphatically drives his point home.

The lyrics is fun to listen to, the melody is great and his voice sounds better than his previous recordings.

The blend of guitar, drums and piano provide a solid base for the intricacy of purchasing or mentioning the word ‘condom’.

It has hit the airwaves on most local FM radio stations in Kampala.
