VENDORS of Kakooge sub-county in Nakasongola district have threatened to recall councillor Wilson Sekibindi if he does not respond to their demands to have the Kakooge market demolished.

The angry traders also chased away Sekibindi from a meeting he had convened to sensitise the locals about development programmes for the area.
The traders claim the market structures are sub-standard and the market was poorly constructed.

“We told Sekibindi earlier before the construction kicked off that the market was set up in an area where there were no business opportunities. We cautioned him not to approve it, but our warning fell on deaf ears. We are soliciting signatures to recall him,” one of the furious traders said.

When Sekibindi was contacted for comment, he said that he would present the matter to the council to get a way forward.
