Juliana, Kabushenga clash over pay

All else went well at the New Vision’s Rights Issue dinner at the Pyramids Casino on Yusuf Lule Road last Thursday except for one glitch — singer Juliana Kanyomozi. Juliana wound up storming out of the function without her pay cheque as she had hoped.

All else went well at the New Vision’s Rights Issue dinner at the Pyramids Casino on Yusuf Lule Road last Thursday except for one glitch — singer Juliana Kanyomozi. Juliana wound up storming out of the function without her pay cheque as she had hoped.

Trouble? Party organizers said she did not uphold her end of the bargain! Apparently, it had been agreed that she be paid by cheque (as opposed to cash payment like she had requested) if she performed about five songs. But Juliana appeared an hour and a half after the agreed time – 7:00pm and after a voice trial interlude performed two songs.

She then retreated to the back and called CEO Robert Kabushenga for her cheque. When he did not pick, she sent text messages to his personal assistants, who told her she had to first sing the agreed upon number of songs before getting it. She stood her ground, so did the organizers.

Things got so bad Juliana’s manager accosted Kabushenga, who had stepped out to receive the guest of honour, demanding for the cheque. His final word? Come to office tomorrow!

Looks like our diva could not take it any more she stormed out in protest and never came to our premises for her cheque either.
