KAPCORWA District LC5 Chairman wants Government to establish a National High Altitude Athletics University in the district to to drill athletes for international duty.

Nelson Chelimo told a meeting at Kwoti Health Centre on Thursday, that the institute will churn out first class athletes who will save the country embarrassment like what was registered at the Beijing Olympic Games in China in August.

The country failed to win any medal in the events Ugandans participated in due to lack of adequate training offered to the national athletic teams
Chelimo said he is to inform President Yoweri Museveni that the district has identified land for the proposed university and what was required are funds and technical persons to man it.

“I am going to ask President Museveni to let our children gain knowledge and skills from the mountainous district.”

He was handing over the Kapanguria-Kwoti 6km feeder road to Labour and Light Equipment under a sh142m DANIDA grant.
