THE Bride and Groom magazine is giving a lucky couple a chance to spend seven nights in Zanzibar for their honeymoon. Two nights will be spent at Serena Zanzibar Hotel and five nights at a mystery hotel by the beach.

This is part of a promotion in the Christmas bumper issue which is on sale now.

The honeymoon will be available between February 15 and July 15, 2009. Pearl of Africa Tours and Travel Limited, Air Uganda and Serena hotels are the co-sponsors of the promotion.

The bumper issue is glossier according to the editor, Keturah Kamugasa.
“The 132-page magazine features 600 great ideas for organising a wedding, from church to the honeymoon.

There is plenty of fashion for the entire entourage and 16 pages of fabulous wedding gowns,” says Keturah. She adds that the magazine, which started in 2004 as a 32-page newspaper insert, has become a best seller at sh5,000.

To enter the competition, one has to buy the magazine and complete the entry coupon on Page 113.

Completed entries should be sent in an envelope marked Bride and Groom Honeymoon Promotion and sent to The New Vision offices countrywide or to P.O. Box 9815, Kampala.

Coupons with correct answers will be entered into a raffle draw and winners will be announced in The New Vision. Participants should be married before February 2, 2009.
Up to 10 original entries can be sent.

Life in Zanzibar
The Serena Zanzibar beach hotel or Zanzibar Inn is a prestigious hotel. The restaurant’s low windows allow guests to enjoy a good view of the Indian Ocean.

While there, visit the Prison Island. It is a 30-minute boat ride to the idyllic setting once used as a prison during the slave trade era.

While in Zanzibar, try out the various roasted or fried seafoods. Knowledge of Kiswahili is an advantage especially when shopping, although English is also understood.

American dollars are used alongside Tanzanian shillings. Enjoy a tour on took tooks (three-wheeled boda bodas) and visit the ancient museum.
