THE Katikkiro of Buganda, Eng. JB Walusimbi, has appealed to the people in the kingdom to support projects meant for development, reports Aidah Nanyonjo.

“We need projects that generate income to support the running of the kingdom. We have many of them, but still need your support,” Walusimbi said at the 4th graduation ceremony of Buganda Royal Institute at Kakeeka Mengo on Saturday.

He cited the expansion of the Mutesa One Royal University as one of the projects that needed funding from supporters.

Walusimbi told the over 800 graduates in various disciplines to start their own investments other than waiting for white collar jobs.
The principle of the institute, Anthony Wamala, advised the graduates to use the knowledge acquired in school to improve their living standards.

“Wherever you go, remember the sacrifices your parents made to have you educated. Ensure that their investment bears dividends,” he said. “Use the skills you have got to the best of your ability. If you perform well, the institute earns the credit, but if you perform dismally, we will disown you.”
