THE suspension of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) managing director David Jamwa and his deputy Prof. Mondo Kagonyera is puzzling.

The Bishop of Kasana-Luweero Diocese, Paul Ssemwogerere, has said: “If there was no wrongdoing involved in the purchase of Temangalo land, why were the NSSF bosses suspended. I don’t know whether I am the one who doesn’t know how to interpret the law but if they were exonerated, why were they fired?”

Ssemwogerere asked.
The finance minister, Dr. Ezra Suruma, on Thursday suspended Jamwa and Kagonyera.

Ssemwogerere was officiating at the Christ the King Parish celebrations on Sunday.

He criticised the ethics and integrity minister Nsaba Buturo for saying that religious leaders condone corruption.

“I am surprised the ethics minister blames corruption on religious leaders. I will speak against social evils afflicting society including corruption,” he said.

He said the Government policy on eradicating poverty had not done much in Luweero.

The celebrations were attended by the Chief Justice, Benjamin Odoki, retired Chief Justice Wako Wambuzi, state minister of public service, Sezi Mbaguta, former Katikkiro of Buganda Joseph Ssemwogere and Members of Parliament.

Msgr. Gerald Kalumba was installed by the Vicar-General, Charles Kasibante as the new Christ the King parish priest.
