We lost luggage worth $2,000!

We travelled on flight KQ417/KQ426 on August 7 from Entebbe through Nairobi to Rumbashi in the DRC.
We travelled on flight KQ417/KQ426 on August 7 from Entebbe through Nairobi to Rumbashi in the DRC.
During this journey our baggage was taken from the plane by the air hostess who said it was supposed to be in the luggage compartment.
We insisted that it was hand luggage and included important and valuables documents so we wanted to keep it with us. but the air hostess refused and transferred the baggage to the luggage compartment. we have not found the baggage since then!
Now the airline is giving us a claim of only $120 which is far less than the actual value of our baggage. We told them that they either find the baggage and give it to us or pay us the full claim of $2000.
the baggage contained sarees worth $150 each, dresses worth $120 each, perfumes worth $90, a citizen watch worth $220 and some money.
We had told the hostess the bag contained valuables but she promised that we would get it as soon as we landed. How did it disappear? Salim Allani Kampala
