Guard arrested over Stanbic Bank robbery

A security guard attached to Group 4 Securicor has been arrested over the robbery of Stanbic Bank, IPS building branch.

A security guard attached to Group 4 Securicor has been arrested over the robbery of Stanbic Bank, IPS building branch.

Justine Olwo was picked by the Police on Tuesday as he reported for duty at the bank. “He is giving us some information,” Kampala Central Police Station chief Ivan Nkwasibwe said yesterday.

His arrest brings the total number of suspects in Police custody to eight.
The Police on Tuesday arrested the branch manager and six other senior staff members.

Manager Jennifer Wanyama, Hanifah Nakanjako, a teller, Deborah Rwomusharo, the assets custodian and James Sempebwa were allegedly in charge of the strong-room at the time the robbers made off with sh702.4m.

Others are Madinah Namugabo, Joseph Bwire and Robert Kakooza.
