SIR — I write in reference your cartoon on Tuesday. The cartoon depicted ‘hooded’ Members of Parliament waylaying government as it carried donor funds to the people.
SIR — I write in reference your cartoon on Tuesday. The cartoon depicted ‘hooded’ Members of Parliament waylaying government as it carried donor funds to the people.
That the MPs are depicted as ‘thugs’ is quite derogatory and uncalled for.
The public should appreciate that the vehicle facilitation for which the MPs are demanding is an entitlement that they should receive so as to carry out their functions effectively.
They are not ‘grabbing’ it from the government as the cartoon suggests.
Much as there may be various opinions about the MPs’ demands, they should be expressed in a more sensible and mindful manner.
The cartoon as it was presented was rather blunt and misrepresented the situation on the ground.
