More held over robbery<br>KAMPALA<br>Three more suspects have been arrested in connection with the sh704.4m Stanbic Bank robbery last Monday. The three are not bank staff. They were arrested by the violent crime crack unit over the weekend and are being held for questioning.

Three more suspects have been arrested in connection with the sh704.4m Stanbic Bank robbery last Monday. The three are not bank staff. They were arrested by the violent crime crack unit over the weekend and are being held for questioning. Seven others were earlier arrested in connection with the robbery. Police spokesman Edward Ochom said one of the suspects has been transferred to Kampala Central Police Station together with the seven pending their appearance in court. He said the seven had been held without charge for over 48 hours because more information was being sought from them.

DPP’s Kiyingi appeal stalls

The Director of Public Prosecutions has not secured the relevant documents from the High Court needed to challenge Dr. Aggrey Kiyingi’s acquittal over the murder of his wife. Dr. Kiyingi was acquitted of the murder of his wife, Robinah Kiyingi, on December 11, 2006. Kiyingi’s co-defendants, his employee Charles Berwanaho and Police Constable Bob Mugisha, were also acquitted. Robinah Kiyingi was shot dead at her gate in Buziga on July 11, 2005.

National Water and Sewerage Corporation has retrieved the drums of liquid chlorine that caused scores of people to be hospitalised in Ndejje, a Kampala suburb, at the weekend. Chief fire officer Joseph Mugisa yesterday told The New Vision the drums that contained the toxic chemical were removed by the corporation’s engineers on Monday evening and taken to the Ggaba water processing plant.
