A few years ago, television audiences across Africa were charmed by Idols Africa, a televised musical talent search show, in which we saw contestants from African countries take their shot at stardom, on M-Net.
Now, the continental broadcaster has turned its cameras to an exclusively West African talent search show, Idols West Africa.

Episode 1 will screen on Sunday, with episode 2 following on Monday. The audience can tune in again on February 25 for episode 3.

In episode 4 on February 26, Idols heads to Planet One, a night spot in Lagos, Nigeria, which will be the home of Idols West Africa, to find the top 24 contestants. The show will wrap up in a grand finale on May 27.

In addition, DStv Channel 37 will also focus on Idols West Africa, offering viewers more from the auditions.

The channel will be available from February 18 from 10:00pm to midnight. Every day thereafter, until March 4, the channel will offer 16 hours of the show daily, starting at 9:00am and ending at midnight.
