SIR — Last year, the police chief, Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura, intervened in the Mayuge forests saga and promised that the farmers would continue cultivating in the area.

But the forest officials are still threatening to send away farmers by the end of this harvest season. Farmers are selling off their crops cheaply with the fear of losing everything.

Our parents can only afford fees from this kind of work. We fear we might lose out on education.

Why is it that they only disturb us during the harvest period? When will this end? we are fed up. Our parents are suffering. Some solutions should be presented quickly.
