UGANDA’S She Cranes secured a dramatic 34-31 victory over Kenya in the Zone V Senior challenge Cup netball championships in Zanzibar yesterday.
Kenya led almost throughout the game but lost it at the end as Uganda cut the deficit from four to two goals and to one with just over a minute of play left.
Team captain Harriet Apako forced errors from the Kenyans and goal shooter Florence Amono swept forward to set up Annet Nakiwu who netted to seal a 3-point victory for She Cranes.
Uganda faces hosts Zanzibar today in the Zone V games that are also preparations for the All Africa netball championships due August in Namibia.
The regional tournament is set to end today.
