CELTEL has donated textbooks to St. Mary’s Namalu Primary School in Nakapiripirit.

The managing director, Yesse Oenga, and primary education state minister, Peter Lokeris, handed over the textbooks.

Under the programme, “Build Our Nation,” schools in Tanzania, Zambia, Kenya and Uganda get textbooks.

Over sh100m textbooks are provided every year to schools in Uganda.

Oenga said the programme aims at providing teaching aids to schools under the Universal Primary Education programme.

“Celtel believes the textbooks will
go a long way in improving the pupil to textbooks ratio,” he said.

Oenga said they are complementing the Government efforts of meeting the 2015 Millennium Development Goal of improving education.
