TORNADO Cricket Club overcame a determined challenge from holders Africa to lift the Luswata Cup with a two-wicket victory in the final on Sunday.

A man-of-match performance from Emmanuel Nakana (29 runs and one wicket) inspired Tornado that otherwise displayed poor batting.

Batting first, the Africa outfit looked rusty with national players Junior Kwebiiha, Lawrence Sematimba, Arthur Kyobe and Ronald Semanda disappointing.

Late efforts by Innocent Ndawula (16) and John Mpande (17) gave struggling Africa a disgraceful 122 in 50 overs.

Youngster Nakana then applied maturity and class after veterans Benjamin Musoke, Keith Legesi, Baig Akbar and Frank Nsubuga failed with the bat.
A late contribution from Richard Okia (38) sealed victory for Tornado with 11 overs to spare.
