CRANE Bank has injected sh25m in the third edition of the Kigezi Crane Bank golf Open that will take place over the Easter weekend in Kabale.

Cranes Bank head of marketing Aldrine Nsubuga announced the package at the launch of the tournament at Uganda Golf Club yesterday. The funding has risen from sh16m in the previous edition of the event.

“The tournament is getting bigger and better every year. This year, Crane Bank will be more involved in sports promotion than ever before. We recognise the role of sports in our community and therefore take it very seriously,” Nsubuga remarked.

Uganda Golf Club secretary Mukiibi Muka hailed Crane Bank for sponsoring the tournament organised by Kabale Sports Club.

“The greens and fairways in Kabale are in very good shape. It is going to be a challenging competition. Many of our upcoming players will be there to show their skills,” Mukiibi said.

Nsubuga, who was flanked by his assistant Noel Muhumuza, handed over the glittering trophies to one of the tournament officials Gad Musaasizi.

The tournament is expected to attract over 100 golfers from all clubs in the country, including Kampala, Jinja, Arua, Tororo and Lugazi.

There will also be a professional category.
