RUGBY-kyadondo Thunderbirds team is looking for sh50m to compete in the Stockholm 10’s women tournament next month. The side that failed to make the trip last year could play more matches in Sweden and later travel for more action in the United States.

National team for trial match
CRICKET-Coach Sam Walusimbi is planning to move Joel Olweny and Lawrence Sematimba up the batting order in today’s trial match ahead of the Australia tour. The national team is entered in the tour event, May to June.

Squash action
SQUASH-The Sheraton Hotel Corporate squash league will be held fromJuly 25 to August 3 at the hotel’s squash courts, chief organiser Colin Mpango said. “We have set the date for this annual event and we have made sure that it does not clash with other events on the Uganda Squash Rackets Association calendar,” Mpango explained.

Event moved
ATHLETICS-Uganda Athletics Federation has brought forward the East African Senior Championship to May 30-31 from June 1-2. The change was prompted by the Nations Cup qualifier between Uganda and Nigeria due at the Mandela national stadium, Namboole on June 2.
