SINCE the US invaded Afghanistan after September 11, there has been a lot of interest in Al Jazeera, the independent Arabic network, especially when it comes to matters of the Middle East.

This follows their ‘independent’ coverage of the war; the world could not get on CNN or BBC.

DStv, the South African-based continental pay TV recently added Al Jazeera English to their platform.

The 24-hour international news and current affairs channel, which is part of the world renowned Al Jazeera Network, went live on DStv’s channel 62, from May 31, 2007.
