RAKAI - The Government will take over private and community-owned hills that have no trees, water and environment minister Maria Mutagamba has said.
RAKAI - The Government will take over private and community-owned hills that have no trees, water and environment minister Maria Mutagamba has said.
The minister said: “If the communities do not plant trees on hills, we shall not hesitate to declare them government-owned.†She urged the local leaders to mobilise the locals to plant trees on all hills.
“I can provide many good quality seedlings for the community,†the minister added. She also attacked people who cultivate in wetlands and those using poor farming methods.
