COMMONWEALTH featherweight champion Jackson “Action” Asiku, was in a ruthless mood Saturday when he knocked out Singdaeng Pattanasing in the first round of a scheduled six-round fight in Perth, Australia.

The Ugandan prize fighter was returning to the ring for the first since June last year after having contractual problems with his manager Danny Lutaaya.

Asiku earlier in the week promised The New Vision that he would hold his title defence in Kampala ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting that will be hosted by Uganda in November.

The Australia-based fighter improved his record to 21 wins 3 loses 0 draws and 11 knockouts.
Asiku is in talks with British boxing promoter Barry Hearn of organising a fight in Kampala in September.

The British promoter wants to sink 80,000 pounds (sh262.4m) in the biggest show that will have Justine Juuko on the under card.
