NAMAGUNGA Old Girls Association (NOGA) celebrated their 10th anniversary with award of certificates to last years’ academic achievers.

They also recognised the efforts of the former headteacher, Sr. Justine Paul Kyalikunda.

Kyalikunda served the school for the last six years and was seconded to serve as literature lecturer at the Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi.

Several students who excelled in last year’s ordinary and advanced level examinations were awarded certificates of merit by the chief Guest, Sr. Pauline Namuddu in the schools’ main hall on June 17.

The school’s board donated a laptop computer to Sr. Kyalikunda. The new headteacher Sr. Seraphine Amulen, was introduced to the parents, old girls and guests.

The chairperson of NOGA, Beatrice Okello highlighted the achievements of the association. “NOGA has made several contributions.

These included spearheading the construction of teachers’ flats, the Mother Kevina Library, St. Mary’s Chapel and the recently constructed Sr. Cephas Home Economics and Management Laboratory,” she said.

Okello said the old girls have tried to identify a project that is of immediate benefit to the school like installing fire extinguishers due to rampant fires in schools.

The NOGA class of 1985 handed over bedcovers to students of senior one to four.

Amulen hailed the Old Girls for their contribution towards maintaining the schools’ tradition of academic excellence.

In July last year, the class of 1986 installed a solar system in the A’ Level block at a cost of sh3m.
