NAIROBI-The Kenyan government has appealed to Ugandan authorities to recover 500 head of cattle which were stolen from Trans Nzoia and West Pokot last week.The Trans Nzoia East District commissioner, Seif Matata, explained that the animals were raided by suspected Ugandan Sabiny. “We have received positive response from Ugandan authorities who are pursuing the raiders. Such a close working relationship will help curb cattle rustling along the border,” he said. The Kapenguria MP in West Pokot, Samuel Moroto, said there was high tension in the area because villagers plan to revenge if the two governments do not help them recover the cattle.

Police chief advises couples

SOROTI-Couples should legalise their marriages, the crime chief, Fred Mugungu, has advised. “People should get certificates immediately they commit themselves into marriage such that in case of any family breakage, it would be easy to make a follow-up.”
