My heart is larger than normal

ACTIVE sportsmen do have a well-developed heart. This is because as your body and muscles develop during exercise, your heart develops too. It becomes bigger and stronger. That is normal.

I am 19 years old. I am a very active sportsman. Recently I went for a chest X-ray and was told that my heart is larger than normal. What could be the cause of this and how could it be corrected?

But there are other questions to consider. Why did you have the X-ray done? Did you have any symptoms for which your doctor wanted an X-ray? How big is the heart?
It is best to go back to the doctor who requested for the X-ray, so that he or she evaluates it and gives you answers to these questions.
