KAMPALA — Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Col. Kizza Besigye will on Thursday address a rally at Kasubi in Rubaga Division. The 4:00pm rally is part of the party’s campaign strategy to marshal support for Beti Kamya, who is aspiring for the area MP seat. The rally will follow Kamya’s nomination slated for 12:00pm.

Nebbi polls
NEBBI — The district has registered over 400 candidates vying for different posts, including the LC5 seat. Padyere county has 137 candidates, Okoro 119 and Jonam has 110. Five candidates were disqualified for presenting forged documents while others failed to raise signatories.

Clarification
In our story: “UYD asks DP to come clean on mayor choice” published yesterday on page six, it was reported that UYD members said the increase of polling stations from 18,000 to over 25,000 should be investigated. The Electoral Commission has clarified this is not true. The correct position is that there are 19,788 gazetted polling stations in the country.
