DFCU leasing will put emphasis on farming, Moses Kibirige, dfcu Bank’s general manager for development finance, has said.
“Agriculture is a good business especially after harvesting and processing. That is why we want to support it in our leasing products this year,†Kibirige said recently.
He said Uganda is an agro-based economy and the sector employs many people.
Kibirige said farming is only highly risky at the farm level and becomes like any other business at the harvesting and processing level.
He said despite the low market penetration of leasing in Uganda, many Ugandans had started realising its importance.
