Nile Bank last Saturday launched Team Care, a new brand to motivate staff.
The product, which was launched at Faze 2 Bar and Restaurant during a staff end-of-year party, stands for, “Together Everyone Achieves More and Customers Are The Reason We Exist.”
The head of human resource, Alice Chekwoti, said clients benefit from staff motivation.
“We want to build motivation and a sense of belonging among staff. We are also cementing our core values that drive our bank,” Chekwoti said.
Through teamwork, progress, customer dedication, integrity and excellence, the bank hopes to hit targets. Richard Byarugaba, the managing director, said last year’s challenges were achieved, and most of them exceeded.
These included raising the balance sheet to sh100b, opening branches in Mukono and Mbale and acquiring a high net worth branch, Club Esteem.
Others included introducing new organisational structure to manage a larger business.
ss, choosing new software to run an expanded business enterprise and creating a new vision to focus on the small and medium enterprises.
Byarugaba said the bar for 2006 was raised higher and that meant more challenges. "Our balance sheet must hit sh140bn, profit before tax is expected to be at sh6.3bn, and deposits should increase to sh120bn."
The bank also hopes to increase point of sell terminals, open four new ATMs, open two branches, one in Arua and another at Shauri Yako, Kampala.
Being listed on the stock exchange is another key target. Byarugaba said the stock exchange listing would enable them raise capital and fulfill countrywide expansion.
"To achieve all these targets, we need to continue to do some good work internally." He encouraged staff to buy stakes in the bank at a discount.
