SIR — According to press reports, the British Conservative Party (the opposition party in Britain) is funding activities of the Uganda Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).

In this cooperation, however, it is reported that the FDC should cooperate with its political opponents in Uganda but not with the Conservatives’ opponents in Britain! Surely, where is the FDC’s spine? Do they have no principles of their own?

The voters in Uganda can at least claim to know what is in all this cooperation for the FDC, but what is in it for the Conservatives in britain?

I know that the strategy of ‘remove Museveni at all costs’ is very much at the forefront of FDC’s political struggles but isn’t it dangerous for Uganda’s sovereignty and future?
I think FDC should be more focused and think about this matter .
