BUNAMWAYA coach Richard Wasswa has said a Super Division League debut is a big challenge but his charges will stay focused.
The side will open its account in soccer’s top event against fellow new comers Super Cubs at Wankulukuku.
Super Cubs launched their campaign with a goalless draw against another league new side KB Lions on Tuesday.
Wasswa said the task ahead of his charges is to adapt to the demands of the premier league.
“The game in the super league is different from that in the first division and we have to change our approach,” Wasswa said. “I have to ensure that my players stay together and focused. They will then overcome any hurdle.”
Striker Eric Obua, instrumental in the team’s promotional campaign, is one of the players Wasswa is looking to for results.
Super Cubs, handled by former international Ibrahim Buwembo, are aiming to raise their game after Tuesday’s draw.
Defenders Abel Kasita and Michael Kavulu who are the architects of team’s efforts against KB Lions are back in action.
More is also expected from the captain and left winger Hamza Lutalo who was in good shape against Lions.

  • UGANDAN international David Obua is more than convinced that come May, he will walk away with his second and Kaizer Chiefs third PSL crown in as many seasons.

Obua, who this season was twice responsible for helping Chiefs see off arch rivals Orlando Pirates, has been an inspiration for the Amakhosi in the left sided defensive position.

“We have a group of committed and hard working players who fight for each other during a game and our sense of team and the strong spirit that lies within the team will see us through,” said Obua.

With the South African championship resuming in just over 14 days, Obua views the outcome of two games against league leaders Sundowns twice within the space of one week as critical.

“By beating Sundowns twice we will take a six points off them and will lead them in the standings which will put us in a good psychological mood.”
