GULU — A district officer was on Tuesday sentenced to three years imprisonment over embezzlement and uttering false documents. Paul Oketayot, an assistant animal husbandry officer in the district veterinary department and Francis Arop, reportedly embezzled sh1m meant for an agricultural extension grant for the district.

IGG orders prosecution

MOYO — The Inspector General of Government (IGG) has directed the National Forest Authority to prosecute three officials for creating a non-existent tree nursery with ghost workers in the district. In a report to the public service ministry, the deputy IGG, Raphael Baku, accused Onen Otto, Baker Andreonzi and Patrick Oyet of forging accountabilities for Aliba sub-county tree nursery.

Lango chief sets cabinet

LIRA — Lango paramount chief Won Nyaci Yosam Odur has appointed a 17-member cabinet a month after enthronement. In a ceremony that attracted over 100 cultural leaders on Tuesday, Faustino Olwit Engol was appointed prime minister. Others appointed are Yeko Bua (health) and Napitali Kali (works).
