The Celtel Pirates RC picked up where they left off last year, taking maximum points from the first Sevens Circuit of the year.

Although they lost 0-32 to the national team in the final, they saw off reigning Sevens champions MTN Heathens 19-15 in the semi-finals, just like they did last year on their way to winning the last Sevens Circuit of 2005.

The Sevens were hastily arranged to give the national team playing practice prior to the Commonwealth Games next month.

In other results, LG Rhinos beat Hima Impis 30-0 to lift the Plate trophy. The Rhinos lost 20-0 to the Cranes in a quarter-final match up.

Buffaloes white-washed their sister team Saracens 33-0 in the Bowl final, while festival team Summerkampers won 15-0 over yet another Kyadondo side, the Shepherds.
