KAMPALA City Council (KCC) on Wednesday handed over fire-fighting gadgets worth millions of shillings to the Police Fire Brigade.
Acting mayor Hasib Kabuye Takuba handed over the gadgets to the Police chief fire officer, Joseph Mugisa, at City Hall. This was the second batch of a donation by West-Midland fire station in England to KCC.
The gadgets included helmets, gloves, and track-suits.
Mugisa thanked KCC for the gesture and asked them to build fire stations in all divisions of the city.
“On many occasions, we fail to save property because of the delays to reach the site due to traffic jam in the city centre. But if we get stations in the suburbs, we can improve on our services,” Mugisa said.
