JUST how good is the Uganda national sevens team, ahead of next month’s Commonwealth games? Pretty good, if you ask the coach Tolbert Onyango.

The team was good enough to finish the second leg of the National Sevens Circuit on Saturday without conceding a single try.

But they were tested by surprise team of the day, the Buffaloes, in the final of the main game which had to be abandoned at half time because of bad light.

In fact, it was a day of surprises as the usual ‘big’ teams had some rude shocks. Buffaloes reached the finals after seeing off ‘big brothers’ MTN Heathens 10-7.

They had earlier seen off last week’s winners Celtel Pirates 12-9.
